The Streamsong Pilgrimage

Three top-100 courses rising out of a reclaimed Florida phosphate quarry — dunes, lakes, and elevation that has no business existing in the Florida flatlands. Red, Blue, and Black, by three of the era's best design teams.

The case for it

Why It's a Pilgrimage

Nobody believes Florida can deliver dramatic, contoured, dunesland golf until they stand on a Streamsong tee box thirty feet above a turquoise mining lake. Coore & Crenshaw, Tom Doak, and Gil Hanse each built a course on the same surreal terrain, and comparing them across a long weekend is one of the great architecture tours in the country. It is the off-season pilgrimage — playable when the northern resorts are frozen shut.
