The case for it

Why It's a Pilgrimage

The Greenbrier is a National Historic Landmark where presidents vacationed and a secret Cold War bunker sat beneath the lawn, and the golf lives up to the grandeur. The Old White TPC is a C.B. Macdonald template course that hosted the PGA Tour, walkable and steeped in Sam Snead lore. Add the over-the-top resort, the casino, and the white-columned hospitality, and it is a pilgrimage to a vanishing kind of American grandeur.
