Branson Hills Golf Club, the Chuck Smith design about ten minutes from the center of town, routinely gets called the best public course in Missouri, and the 200 feet of elevation change on that property means you're hitting approach shots from angles that reward local knowledge. For a rest-day half round or a morning when someone stayed too long at Ernie Biggs the night before, Thousand Hills fits the schedule without anyone feeling like they're slumming it.

The lodging picture here is one of the best arguments for Branson over comparable Ozark alternatives. Large cabin rentals on Table Rock Lake at Indian Point sleep 16 or more with bunk configurations, game rooms, and direct lake access, typically running $500 to $1,600 per night depending on size and season — split across a full group, that math gets very comfortable very fast. The Big Cedar Lodge properties in Ridgedale put you on campus for the flagship courses, which removes all the logistical friction of shuttling a dozen people to tee times. Spring and fall are the windows to book around. Spring brings reliable weather before the family tourism crowd peaks, and fall turns the Ozark hardwoods into something that makes the ridgeline holes at LedgeStone feel like they were designed specifically to show off the foliage. Post-round Branson has more range than its reputation suggests.
